This morning, Friday, the 29th, marked the official opening of Remembrance Month at the Hartenstein Museum. As with every year, the event kicked off with a deep sense of reverence. A delegation from the ABWO organization made their customary appearance, bringing with them their collection of meticulously restored vehicles, which play a key role in bringing history to life for visitors. It’s always a moving sight, seeing these vehicles lined up right behind the Airborne Museum.
For years now, we participate in this event, gradually becoming a cherished tradition that many look forward to. It’s not just about participation; it’s about preserving history and honoring the past with great respect. Each year, participants go to great lengths to ensure authenticity in every detail. From the uniforms to the clothing worn, everything reflects the era we’re commemorating. Even the vehicles are carefully chosen to remain true to the time, each one an authentic representation of the period.
